What good news crosses ones mind when thinking of the world's biggest bike maker? When people talk about gas prices increasing, one may wonder what gas and oil will cost in 20 years from now. Each day as the price of oil increases the demand for cars will decrease. Instead of wasting 60 to 100 dollars in gas a week to fill your gas tank, wouldn't one rather buy a bicycle for 50 dollars and have that last for a couple years. A bike may not be able to get you to your destination as fast as a car, but look at the thought of how much money one will save. The Economist print edition states, "Giant Manufacturing, the world's largest bicycle-maker, sold a record 460,000 units last month and is heading for its best year ever."
The demand for bikes is increasing therefore shortages could occur. In Taiwan, one would wait outside for hours to days until their bike comes off the assembly line. Saving money from gas and oil, bikes are the perfect substitute. Wholesale of bikes have increased by 45% in America alone. Not only looking at gas and oil prices increasing in America, obesity rate is also a major increase. Imagine if everyone in America would ride a bicycle instead of driving around in a car. Think about how much weight one would lose and what good exercise one would get just by going to work and back home. By spreading the word around that bikes are a wonderful investment one will help give bike manufactures more business that they have ever had. When one purchases a bike instead of a brand new car the worry of buying gas will diminish and the economy will now be able to see the increase in demand and supply for bicycles and will hopefully lower their gas prices one day.

With gas prices increasing daily, other alternatives of transportation are becoming more popular. These alternatives are being chosen due to the rising price of gasoline. Great Manufacturing sold a record number of bicycles last month and plan on having their best year ever. Bike demand is especially high in Taiwan. In addition to Taiwan, bike sales are significantly high as well. Riding a bicycle is economically efficient.

You can see the truth in this topic, I thought myself to ride a bike, its healthy for you. I also thought about the time it would take to get places, and the energy i would burn in a day. I can never bring myself to driving my bike from uniontown to CAl U.
