Should Marijuana be legalized for Medical use?

Everyone in the world has heard the argument about the legalization of marijuana; however what do people feel about making marijuana use legal for medical use. In my personal opinion I do believe that they should let people who need it to help them, use it. I feel that the patient should be the one to say whether they would like to give this treatment a try. The use of marijuana for medical reasons is nearly five thousand years old. It has been said that the use of marijuana to someone under pain could be “a valuable aid in the treatment of a wide range of clinical applications.” (Norml.org). The use of medical marijuana can be used for many different reasons in helping people feel better. The use of the drug can help people suffering with pain relief, nausea, glaucoma, and movement disorders. It has also been known to help people suffering with HIV and AIDS.

The American Cancer Society and the American Medical Association also believe that the use of medical marijuana can be very helpful. However, they also believe that it a patient is using medical marijuana they should be watched closely. In a 1991 study forty four percent of oncologist said the agreed with medical marijuana, and fifty percent said that they would agree with it if it was legal. (Norml.org). The Britain’s House of Lord’s Science and Technology Committee stated in 1998 “The Government should allow doctors to proscribe cannabis for medical use.” (Norml.org)

I do believe that the world should allow medical use of marijuana. It would help people and I believe that the government should allow it. I believe that the benefits will definitely out way the problems. This is a good thing and I feel that it should not be taken as a bad one. Something that helps people is the things that matter the most. If someone is against it do not try it. I believe people should do a study of the bad and good effects of medical marijuana and I have true hope and feelings that the good will still out way the bad.
