We have all heard the story about braile on drive-thru ATM machines. This is very random since the only people that use braile are mostly the blind. And since we all know that blind people can’t drive cars it could be the strangest thing they have done. It is normal that the walk up ATM machines have braile and even they have a jack that you can put headphones in and listen step by step. But what about vending machines?
Vending machines have been around for decades. Its junk food central in a vending machine consisting of your favorite chocolate candy bars, yummy chips, and some good candy. Usually nothing in the vending machine is more than $1. But doesn’t it seem odd that walk up vending machines don’t have braile yet drive thru ATM machines do? I mean although you won’t really know what you will get out of the “goody machine” we still don’t see braile on vending machines. I have only seen one vending machine that actually had braile on it yet every drive- thru ATM machine I have been to have all the braile you can think of.
In the end of it all we have seen more braile at drive-thru ATM machines then we have at walk up vending machines. I guess the blind like driving then they do with the delicious candy treats in the vending machine. So the next time you see a blind person at the drive-thru ATM machine at your local bank, I would suggest that you get off the roads immediately.

That's a very funny point of view and it made me laugh. However, as i read it, i got the feeling that you are actually unaware of the reason behind braile at a Drive-Thru ATM and not on a vending machine, no offense meant. You did say that the blind individual wouldn't know what the vending machine would actually be stocked with since it changes time and time again. The only chance for it to work would be if the vendors would change around the braile tags on the machine when the product changes. However, as far as the ATMs go, there is a very good reason for it. It is obvious that blind people cannot drive, however, they do have the ability to be a passenger in a car. If they are sitting behind the driver of the vehicle, all the driver has to do is pull up a little further and the blind individual can go about using the machine. They could even get out of the car to use it if it makes it easier. So, even though it appears to not make much sense at the surface, when you stop to think about the reason behind it, it makes a lot more sense and doesn't seem as idiotic.
I've always wondered why they have done this and it's always made me laugh. THis is because what blind people can drive in the first place? Now what about walk up vending machines? Katie, great point you brought up!! Awesome blog!!! haha
